This is usually what happens when I meet couples interested in booking me for their wedding day: I bring my iPad and my albums (which are really beautiful and I always recommend people getting them - because 1st: it's a totally different feeling seeing the pictures printed in a nice album; 2nd: you don't want to invite your friends over to your computer to see your wedding pictures!; 3rd: the albums are gorgeous). I also explain what they should expect of me on their wedding day and then I let the clients talk about what they're already planning and ask a lot of questions. Most of the times the bride-to-be is the one who does all the talking and her fiance just listens and agrees with everything. So I never really get to know the groom, because they are like that during the engagement shoot and wedding day as well.

That was ALMOST the case with Maria and Dimitri. On our first meeting, Maria did all the talking and Dimitri was really quiet. So I must say I was quite impressed during our E-Session. He was so nice, always listening carefully to my directions so we could make amazing images for them to keep. Also, he never complained about being tired of taking pictures (guys usually do that)! The photos came out so nice I wish I could post them all here! Although it was really hard to make her laugh, there's something about her eyes that say so much! At that moment I just knew her wedding pictures would turned out great and here are some for you to see. A LOT of emotion going on!

Talking about the actual wedding, they had the cutest bridal party EVER!! You'll see what I'm talking about when you get to scroll down the page.

These two are a perfect match! I truly wish them a lifetime of happiness - Maria and Dimitri are both wonderful people. I was impressed with how they got along so well with their little nieces and nephews... they need to become parents soon! :)

I love getting featured in websites, however, I always forget to post news about it here! Well, not that I really forget, but I've been a bit lazy when it comes to updating the blog. I'm not a big fan of writing, so Facebook is much easier for me, since I just really need to post the pictures. Over here, I feel the need of writing something, otherwise it looks kinda weird just having the pictures (and I believe you guys also enjoy reading about the photo shoot).

Anyways... while I still have those links, please visit both Sash and Satin and Toronto Mom Now to view a bit of my work. :)

These photos are fresh from the oven! This photo shoot has an interesting story: last year, Leia - Lucas' mom - called me to book her maternity photo session. Some friends we have in common referred her to me. I wasn't able to photograph her because I was having a baby as well! The thing is we talked for a while on the phone and I don't remember why we ended up talking about her wedding pictures. Her wedding was shot by one of my favorite photographers ever and I actually had seen her pictures years ago!

An year has passed and she contact me to book a family photo shoot since Lucas would be turning 1. This time I was available and I'm really happy she remembered me. Lucas is such a cute baby!! I'm completely in love with this photos. :)

This wedding is close to my heart because Priscila is one of my best friends. We met when we started university so we've been through a lot together. A decade ago, we used to play a whole lot with our point-and-shoots but I would never imagine I would be the one capturing one of the most important days in her life!

The wedding was in my home country, Brazil, and although weddings over there are starting to look a lot like the ones we have here, you'll notice a lot of different things: wedding bands usually match and they are actually given when you get engaged - so yeah, there's no diamond ring (awesome if you're a guy)! There are no bridesmaids as well and no pause for portraits. So there's no waiting between ceremony and reception - I know nowadays everybody is doing the "reveal" thing so they can have the reception right after the ceremony, but over there there's something called "day after" photo shoot where the bride and groom take their portraits the day after the wedding. It's a new thing and not everybody does it. Honestly, I prefer the north american way where everything happens in one day. I must admit that when I first started here I thought that was a bit weird leaving guests waiting for the reception.

Even though we were not able to schedule a day for their portraits since they were leaving for their honeymoon right after the wedding (and I was coming back to Canada!), we have some amazing pictures to share and I'm pretty much sure they will make a beautiful album anyways! :)

This is Heidi and Dan's wedding. They are definitely one of the coolest couples I ever shot. First, look at the title they decided to put on the Eglinton Grand. For the first time EVER, I drove by that place and there wasn't a cheesy thing written over there.

Then, when I get to Dan's house, his computer (or iPod, whatever) is playing Britpop. I mean, who really listens to Some Might Say in 2012? I do! Their place was filled with things I like as well... and whoever gave them a book and quoted Michael Scott is also really cool. :P

I loved her bouquet - she decided to go for tulips... my favorite! It was really fun to shoot a couple that has so much in common with me (except for Justin Bieber - and no... I won't be explaining that here). Let me share with you some of my favorite pictures - originally I intended to post over 60 images, but that's just too many for a single blog post... so compromising pictures of the Biebs with some guests will be left out of this post. ;)

Even though this past winter was pretty mild, it snowed on most of my photo shoots! Tara was really brave and decided to have some of the pictures outside anyways, but most of the day we just had to spend it inside - mostly because her portraits were happening before the ceremony so we had to keep her dress clean.

As I said before, every wedding is unique and what I loved about this one is that Stephen brought their dog to the ceremony! It was a surprise to Tara and you can definitely see that they were able to keep it a secret - just look at Tara's reaction when she sees her dog. Isn't it an "awww" moment? :)

They get bonus points for not playing I Gotta A Feeling from the Black Eyed Peas during the reception. I have nothing against it and I can definitely see why it's played in every single wedding I've been to for the past couple of years. However it would be interesting if another song came out to replace that one! ;)

As I promised, here it goes another post that has nothing to do with weddings/couples. Alexander's baptism was a couple of months ago and I'm really happy with the results - the light coming in the church during the immersion was gorgeous and Alexander's parents could not have picked a better location for the reception! That restaurant was just beautiful and the decoration was sooo cute!! They really put a lot of thought into every detail. The cake was one of the prettiest I've ever seen as well. The cake lady will definitely be doing my daughter's birthday cake next year. ;)

I was making some space in my folders for tomorrow's wedding when I came accross Jade's photo shoot. It's been a while since I don't post non-romantic photo sessions, so I decided to post this one before it's out of my computer. It's such a pity because I did some amazing photo shoots like this last year and now I just don't have time to dig through my DVDs. I promise I'll try to keep this blog more diverse. I love shooting weddings, but the reality is I love shooting anything that involves people.

Jade was featured on this blog two years ago, when she was turning 16. She's now 17 and prettier than ever.

I remember we were freezing on our first photo shoot, but this time the weather was quite nice - despite the rain!! This time, she decided to bring all her cousins for this shoot - isn't that sweet? I love it when I meet teenagers that like to hang out with their family. :)

This winter has been quite warm and I totally forgot how it felt to shoot during the freezing cold! We postponed this photo shoot a couple of times waiting for snow to come with no luck at all. So we just decided we would pick a day and shoot it anyways. And what happened? It snowed! A WHOLE LOT! It was awesome for the pictures and I'm really glad I had my gloves in my backpack, otherwise I would have to cut this e-session short.

Despite the cold, I had a lot of fun shooting this e-session. They are such a cute couple and Jennifer had this awesome idea of going to an ice rink!! I can't wait for their wedding day! :)

And just letting you know, my blog probably won't have any updates for the next month - I'll be crazy busy editing some weddings from this February and then I'm off to South America to shoot another wedding! Yes, I am going to warm Rio de Janeiro to shoot one of my best friends wedding.

Although I would love to post more stuff from 2011, there is a high chance that if your photo session was shot last year and it hasn't been published so far, I won't be posting it here anymore - mainly because they are not in my computer anymore and I just don't have time to go through my DVDs. Oh, I wish I had more hours in my day! I know I've been a bit lazy when it comes to updating the blog with non-wedding/couples material, so if you're coming to this blog searching for maternity, kids and babies photo shoots, I suggest heading to my Facebook Fan Page. Not everybody gets featured in here, but I do post more pictures over there. Even from e-sessions/weddings that I didn't get the chance to post on the blog.

Some days ago I was browsing through Amazon and I stumbled upon the box set of Dawson's Creek for sale. I didn't think twice - I had to buy it, since it was my favorite show ever. Dawson's Creek was on during my teen years and I loved the way that the series was different from the other teen series around that time. Of course that only lasted for the first season and then it became a teen show like all others - guess it had to do with ratings as well. But I kept watching.

The box set finally arrived and I decided to watch some of the episodes again. Then I realized I was too old for it. I can't relate to any of that anymore - therefore, it's no fun wasting a whole hour watching Dawson, Joey, Pacey and their whole drama.

The next day, I decided to give it a another try. For my surprise, the episode I chose did not play on my DVD player and since I read that lots of people had trouble with that box set, I decided to return it and just get a refund. Goodbye, James Van Der Beek.

I can't believe it's been 13 years since the 1st season of DC. 10 years ago I was leaving high school and starting university. Wow.

And talking about years, the couple from this post has been together for a long time now and I couldn't believe how they were still so sweet to each other. This is one of the cutest couples EVER! They were sooo in love - their e-session was great. I love every single image of them! I have so many photo shoots from last year I still want to post in here, but I just had to post this one right away. :)

p.s.: this post was updated on 02/15.
