Patricia's maternity pictures were posted some months ago and now I have the pleasure to introduce you to baby Julia. One of the cutest baby girls I've ever seen, that little one looks just like a doll.

I've been doing plenty of baby pictures during this winter and it's funny how parents usually expect their baby to behave and cooperate during the photo session. Reality is, most of them don't! Of course if you're just looking at my portfolio and not actually having your pictures taken, you'll think that all babies featured in here look so calm and peaceful. Want to know the truth? Babies cry - sometimes A LOT. And that's normal - that's what they're supposed to do. Sometimes we have to stop the photo session and just wait for them to calm down (usually feeding works wonders).

Although that was not the case for Julia - that baby loved my camera, you can see she was pretty much looking all the time at me!, I'm writing this because every now and then I get parents saying they feel bad for me and they would never imagine their baby would be so much work. Parents, I'm used to it! Don't feel bad about it. Especially now that I have a toddler and know exactly how it is. I never rush Baby Photo Shoots - if you need to feed/change/calm down the baby, I'll wait. If we need to just have the shoot another day, that's fine! Babies are one of my favorites subjects to work with, just because there's so much love in the pictures. And this shoot is a great example of it. :)

If I could define last November in one word, it'd be exhausting. It's interesting because with the cold weather, things usually start to slow down, but it was just crazy. I had Dylan and Jaden's portraits in one morning, then I was off to Toronto to shoot baby Amanda and, on the next day, I had Reinaldo and Giseli's wedding that has yet to be posted on my blog (but you can check some of their images in my FB page). Oh, I forgot to mention that, on the same week, I did over 20 headshots for companies and real state agents. I'm denitely NOT complaining about the amount of work, but you have to agree that it was truly tiring, especially when you add a toddler running around the house and still waking up during the night!

But back to this photo shoot - I had a really great morning with these boys. Dylan and Jaden were just adorable - their parents are doing a wonderful job raising these two. After a super busy week, I was so lucky to get amazing kids to work with. Please enjoy their images. :)

I used to write drafts about the weddings I wanted to post on my blog right after I finished editing all the images, but unfortunately that's not true anymore. Working every weekend and having thousands of images to look through (and a two year old running around the house) doesn't leave me time to do that anymore. I always limit the number of weddings I shoot per year, but maybe it's time I limit my family photo sessions as well. =/

And the problem with taking so long to post about a past wedding is that I don't remember much to write about. Lisa and Edward's was definitely one of my favorites to shoot. It was really intimate and beautiful. They didn't care about throwing a huge party/reception aftwards, which is rare nowadays. They just wanted to gather all the loved ones to celebrate this important day at church.

After the ceremony, we had a delicious lunch and drove to the Bluffer's park for some portraits. It was pretty windy and cold, but they came out gorgeous!! We had a bit of sunshine for about 2 min and with that tiny amount of time I got my favorite wedding image from last year. You'll see when you scroll down (it's also on my portfolio). Love that place.

Congrats, Lisa and Edward! Wishing you all the best in your life. :)

Hope everybody had an awesome holiday season! 2013 is here and I still have lots of photo shoots from 2012 that I want to post. This one is from last November - you might remember Claudia and Robinson if you come here often. Their maternity photo shoot was featured in here not too long ago.

Let me introduce their newest addition to the family: baby Amanda. Believe or not, she was only two weeks old - definitely one of the cutest newborns I've ever seen! Claudia and Robinson, congrats, may Amanda fill your hearts with joy! :)

Another year goes by... and what a year! I've never been so busy. Thanks everybody for allowing me to work with what I'm passionate about. I really love creating beautiful memories for you to keep.

Happy Holidays and I hope to see you next year! :)

I can't believe 2012 is almost over! Time is flying and I'm finally getting back to blogging some of the weddings I've been posting on my Facebook Page. Many, many hours spent in front of the computer editing all these pictures while listening to music (and sometimes splitting the screen with Photoshop on one side and Toopy and Binoo on the other side) - weddings, babies, families, head shots, engagement sessions... and I still love all this.

I thought things were supposed to slow down during this time of the year, as they always do, but I've never been so busy. Lots of family photo shoots - so thanks everybody for sharing your pictures and talking about me. :)

If you're here often, you'll remember these two from a Distillery District E-Session. Rachelle and Levente got married last August at a stunning farm in Marsville.

The forecast was for rain, but it was pretty sunny all day long. We had some really heavy clouds throughout the whole day, so one minute everything was gray and windy and then all of sudden we had the brightest sun on our faces! I'm not kidding - I never changed my ISO and shutter speed so much in a matter of minutes. Tough day to be shooting outside, but I made it and I'm extremely proud of the outcome. We've got some amazing images to share - my favorite one is definitely the last one, where Levente's little nephew is pointing to the stars in the sky as the night falls.

Congrats, Rachelle and Levente! :)

This photo shoot is to show you don't need to wait till Spring/Summer to get your pictures taken - even if you are not a fan of the cold weather!

This past summer I shot baby Alice's first birthday - Mari and Leo liked my work so much that they decided to book another photo shoot. They didn't want pictures on a park or in the city, but in their bedroom! I loved the idea - different from everything else I've done and it truly feels cozy and intimate.

This first part I'm focusing on the couple and giving you some sneak peeks of the family shoot. Stay tuned for part II, where I'll focus on their lovely girls - Helena and Alice.

And well, do I even need to say they are already planning another photo shoot? ;)

Lots of babies being born this Autumn. :)
Julia was born this weekend, so I decided to share with you their maternity pictures, which I absolutely love! Patricia and Thiago are also big Disney fans, just like me, so you must imagine that I had to spend some extra minutes taking their pictures to make up for the time that I spent talking about WDW.

Congrats, Patricia and Thiago! Can't wait to take pictures of Julia!

This is one of the weddings I've been waiting anxiously to happen. Why? Because Aileen and Brandon are the couple every photographer wants. Besides the fact they are really good looking (I overheard some guests saying they look like Barbie and Ken - Aileen actually reminds me of Jen Aniston and Brandon looks like those actors from old movies), PDA is not a problem for them and they are extremely nice, easy going people.

It was cute watching them. Since our e-session, I felt like I was shooting a high school couple. You know when you're in high school and you have the biggest crush on someone and your eyes just sparkle when you look at that person? That's how they look at each other! I think it's pretty noticeable from the pictures.

They got married in a gorgeous church 5 minutes away from my house (that's a first!) and then we went for the portraits. At first, they were thinking of doing portraits before the ceremony, but Brandon really wanted to first see Aileen in her white dress walking down the aisle. We still had time for some amazing portraits at the Trafalgar Castle School and around the Lake House, however I really wished we had time to go to the beach. :( If you're reading this, Brandon & Aileen, how about a Trash the Dress photo shoot in the future?? :))

Congrats, Brandon and Aileen!

Top 3 things to consider when choosing your wedding photographer:

#1 You must love the photographer's work (or at least like a whole lot): if you can't go through the photographer's blog posts (it doesn't matter if it's wedding related or not), this means he/she is not the right photographer for you;
#2 You must get along with your photographer: that's why we should ALWAYS meet up before signing any agreements. I've been trying really hard to schedule meetings with ample time to chat about all your big day's details, but sometimes that's just not possible, especially if you want to meet during weekends. So the best thing is to schedule a meeting during the weekdays - otherwise you might get the impression I'm in a rush to end the meeting (on weekends, I usually squeeze meetings between photo shoots).
#3 Rates that fit your budget: you can check out my starting rates on the top menu - if I was the bride, I wouldn't really like photographers that do not post their rates on their website. I just think it saves time for both of us.

Noor considered all these 3 things above when booking me. She was having a South Asian wedding and was not concerned at all that I wasn't a photographer that just shot Indian/Pakistani weddings; she said she liked all my blog posts because I was able to capture amazing moments, so thank you Noor, for trusting my work. We got along so well that by the end of our meeting we were talking cosmetics and girly stuff. :)

Noor and Omar's henna party/wedding this past August was filled with color, singing, dancing and emotion. What more can I ask for? Let me share a few images with you.

Congrats, Noor and Omar! It was a pleasure shooting your big day. :)
