Everyday I take Melody to a park close to my place. Yes, the joys of being a photographer: I can work at home and make my own schedule. Of course, life is not a bed of roses: while everybody is chilling on weekends, I’m out working. I can’t complain, I’m paid to do something I love. Time flies while I’m at it. But I think it’s pretty obvious that I do miss my little girl every minute I’m out. And although I get to spend my weekdays at home, I’m still in front of the computer looking at thousands of pictures.
Going back to that park I was talking about – one of these days I noticed a bunch of teenagers talking, laughing, close to where we were. And all of sudden it hit me: I am getting old. When did that happen?! When I had a job from 9-5 I used to be the youngest of everybody. Now I get to shoot Bar Mitzvahs, sweet 16s and I just feel O-L-D. I definitely have to replace my Junk Food t-shirts for some more serious wardrobe soon. It’s funny when I look at the mirror I still see that 18 year old girl, but I must have gotten old, I’m sure. I just don’t notice the wrinkles. I wonder if that happens to everybody.
Anyways… here we have Bryan and Pareesa (just love the sound of that name!). They look like they came out from a clothing catalog – so cute! They match, but it’s not that obvious match. It just looks good. I recently posted a winter shoot from the Brick Works, so you might feel a bit of deja vu seeing these images. ;)

This winter has been quite warm and I totally forgot how it felt to shoot during the freezing cold! We postponed this photo shoot a couple of times waiting for snow to come with no luck at all. So we just decided we would pick a day and shoot it anyways. And what happened? It snowed! A WHOLE LOT! It was awesome for the pictures and I’m really glad I had my gloves in my backpack, otherwise I would have to cut this e-session short.
Despite the cold, I had a lot of fun shooting this e-session. They are such a cute couple and Jennifer had this awesome idea of going to an ice rink!! I can’t wait for their wedding day! :)
And just letting you know, my blog probably won’t have any updates for the next month – I’ll be crazy busy editing some weddings from this February and then I’m off to South America to shoot another wedding! Yes, I am going to warm Rio de Janeiro to shoot one of my best friends wedding.
Although I would love to post more stuff from 2011, there is a high chance that if your photo session was shot last year and it hasn’t been published so far, I won’t be posting it here anymore – mainly because they are not in my computer anymore and I just don’t have time to go through my DVDs. Oh, I wish I had more hours in my day! I know I’ve been a bit lazy when it comes to updating the blog with non-wedding/couples material, so if you’re coming to this blog searching for maternity, kids and babies photo shoots, I suggest heading to my Facebook Fan Page. Not everybody gets featured in here, but I do post more pictures over there. Even from e-sessions/weddings that I didn’t get the chance to post on the blog. |

Some days ago I was browsing through Amazon and I stumbled upon the box set of Dawson’s Creek for sale. I didn’t think twice – I had to buy it, since it was my favorite show ever. Dawson’s Creek was on during my teen years and I loved the way that the series was different from the other teen series around that time. Of course that only lasted for the first season and then it became a teen show like all others – guess it had to do with ratings as well. But I kept watching.
The box set finally arrived and I decided to watch some of the episodes again. Then I realized I was too old for it. I can’t relate to any of that anymore – therefore, it’s no fun wasting a whole hour watching Dawson, Joey, Pacey and their whole drama.
The next day, I decided to give it a another try. For my surprise, the episode I chose did not play on my DVD player and since I read that lots of people had trouble with that box set, I decided to return it and just get a refund. Goodbye, James Van Der Beek.
I can’t believe it’s been 13 years since the 1st season of DC. 10 years ago I was leaving high school and starting university. Wow.
And talking about years, the couple from this post has been together for a long time now and I couldn’t believe how they were still so sweet to each other. This is one of the cutest couples EVER! They were sooo in love – their e-session was great. I love every single image of them! I have so many photo shoots from last year I still want to post in here, but I just had to post this one right away. :)
p.s.: this post was updated on 02/15.

As a teenager one of my favorite TV shows was Felicity. I used to love the idea of exchanging cassette tapes instead of letters. JJ Abrams writes some pretty good tv series, it’s such a pity that they all jump the shark as the series get closer to the end. Till today I still know by heart some of Felicity’s lines and there’s one that fits what I’m feeling right now – “Sometimes bad things just happen. No reason, no purpose. They just occur and we’re left to pick up the pieces the best we can.” Before you guys think something awful happened to me, don’t worry, I’m okay! It’s just that this week has been pretty stressful. But I guess that’s just the way it is. Sometimes I do forget I’m a grown up. All in all, I should really be thankful: I get to work with what I love (it doesn’t even feel like work!), I get to spend my days with (literally) the happiest baby on the block, and I have a husband that supports me in every single decision I make. So I don’t think life can get any better!
Anyways, enough about me. This is Ray and Jennifer. As you might notice, we had this photo session a while ago, since Jennifer would obviously not be able to wear that dress during winter! It was already pretty cold when we shot this, but the images turned out amazing. These are actually their pre-wedding images and they are getting married this February.
January has been a quiet month for me, but my weekends next month are all booked! It was good to take some time off but I can’t wait to start shooting again!
p.s.: I don’t know if anybody noticed, but I removed that tree from my website background. Finally got tired of it! If you’re still seeing it, it might be still in your cache memory; try refreshing the page. If it’s still there after doing that, don’t worry, what really matters are the pictures. :)

Wow, I can’t believe this year went by so fast!
A big THANK YOU to all my clients: thanks for letting me capture so many important moments in your life – some of you even hired me more than once!!
I really wanted to post more of my work of 2011, but unfortunately (or should I say fortunately?) I’ve been working a lot still and I haven’t had the time to choose the pictures for my blog.
Thanks again and happy holidays! See you all next year. :)

| This photo session was postponed innumerous times – weather wasn’t helping at all – but when we finally did it, the results were amazing. Check it out.
