It’s been raining a lot this summer – actually, on the day of this photo shoot it was thunder storming in Toronto and I was about to call Lucas & Luiza’s parents to reschedule the photoshoot. To my surprise, they said it was sunny over there and I could not believe how the day was so nice, just 30 minutes away from downtown Toronto!

As always, I loved working with Luiza and meeting her new baby brother, Lucas. It was my first time working at Coronation Park, in Oakville. I loved loved these images and could not wait to share a few of my favorites with you.

This past weekend was a very busy one. Got home Saturday past midnight after a whole day shooting a wedding and was up very early in the morning for a family shoot on Sunday. During the afternoon I shot a birthday party so I was pretty much away from home the whole weekend!

I won’t lie: I was exhausted on Monday – especially when you have to get up super early to take your kid to school. HOWEVER I could not wait any longer to edit this photo session you see right here. I am completely in love with every single picture I took that Sunday morning. Even though most photos on my portfolio look “candid”, I do direct a bit and tell clients what to do since most people are really nervous during the shoot. This wasn’t the case that Sunday morning – everything you see here is 100% not staged. I LOVE THAT! We just let this super cute little girl do whatever she wanted during that cold morning at the Distillery.

Below are some of my favorites. :)

There are lots of family photo shoots from last year that I have yet to post and hopefully I’ll be able to get them all here till the next year! :)

This photo shoot was given as a gift to Jack & Gail for their 60th birthday (and wedding anniversary as well!). Their are proud grandparents of four super cute litle girls and one baby boy! I remember that on that day, I had 4 (yes, FOUR!!) other family photo shoots and theirs was the last one. And I couldn’t have asked for a better family to finish my work day.

Gosh, they were amazing!! Even though it was freezing cold, everybody was so happy to be there. It’s been 5 months now that these pictures were taken and they still make me smile every time I browse through them. Let me share some of my favorites with you!

The title of this post was actually supposed to be “TORONTO Family Portraits”.

It was a Monday – left Whitby at 9:30am to get to the Scarborough Bluffs for a family shoot. This was a family I had worked with last year – I got amazing images back in 2013 so I was pretty excited about the shoot this year.

But once I left the 401, it was SOOO foggy I knew I’d have to cancel the shoot. While we were talking about rescheduling I mentioned Whitby was not foggy when I left my house. To my surprise, they decided to come to Whitby and have their shoot here. :)

Started at Central Park and ended our shoot by the lake. We didn’t get a sunny day, but the photos are stunning anyways! Loved them so much I had to share these with you – even though I have over 5000 wedding images to go through right now.

Sunny, beautiful morning we got for this family photo shoot at the Brick Works.

Edward Gardens and High Park are the most popular locations among my clients for family shoots, so I was actually surprised this year when I got two families wanting to go over there (check out my Facebook Page to see the photos from the other family shoot!). I’m always at the Brick Works for engagements sessions, so it was nice to go there with a family for a change.

I had a great time with Faysal, Liyana and their parents. These kids were super cute and fun to be around! Let me share some of the amazing pictures we got from that morning. :)

Had a great time shooting this family at the Rotary Park in Bowmanville. They were celebrating Liam’s and Cole’s 4th and 2nd birthday. Their mom is actually my hair stylist! She is wonderful and I’m so happy I finally found someone great to take care of my hair after I moved to Whitby.

Her kids are two of the cutest boys I’ve seen; Liam has lots, lots of energy and Cole was just really sweet! It’s so nice to see them having so much fun with each other and I’m always amazed at how siblings care for each other at such a young age, no matter how different their personalities are. Incredible. Can’t wait till my daughter becomes an older sister!

Come wedding season and I’m flooded with images to work on. No joke, I have over 10.000 images on my computer right now waiting to be edited. And between a wedding and an engagement session, there’s always time for family shoots on weekdays.

I tend to focus on couples on my blog for obvious reasons, but I promised myself I’d post more family shoots this year. I will also try to post some from last year, I just need to have time to go through my disks.

Last month I had the pleasure to work with these three little guys and their parents at the beautiful Richmond Green. Here are some of my favorites!

So I just ran into this family at a birthday party today and remembered of this great photo shoot we had last year.

I’m still drowning in wedding and family photos to edit, but I just had to stop everything I was doing to post this. Love these photos, had to share it now otherwise I’m sure I’d forget.

Now let me get back to work. :)

It’s funny how time flies when you get older. Just now I noticed it’s been almost 5 months since I posted a family shoot here. I worked with so many wonderful families last year and never had a chance to stop and write about them. I even had families asking me if I didn’t like their shoot because they never appeared in my blog (!).

Thing is, after you have kids, your priorities change quite a bit. I’m always working on weekends and then, on weekdays, I also have to stay on my computer editing photos. When I’m done with the editing, I just want to spend as much time as I can with my daughter and this blog, unfortunately, is not a priority anymore. I do post some new work on my Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/YukiNodaPhotography); that’s the place where you should go to check out my newest work.

This is Francesco and this photo session is celebrating his 100th day, a special occasion in Chinese culture. It was such a pleasure to meet this cute little baby and his older brother, Matteo.

Our shoot started with just Francesco and his mom. A few minutes later, Matteo and his dad arrived from swimming lessons. First thing Matteo did was go to his brother room and hug him! Cutest thing EVER! It was incredible to see such a young boy caring so much about his younger brother.

Richmond Green was THE location for families shoots in 2013 – it’s interesting because I don’t even suggest this park for families, but I had lots of clients choosing this park. It is actually perfect for little ones – it has lots of great features for young kids and it’s small so nobody gets tired!

From all the shoots I’ve had last year in this place, this one is my favorite! Loved shooting this cute little family! The kite sequence was quite hard since the wind was not helping at all, but in the end we did get great images out of it.

I won’t even start to talk about weather – I lost count of how many times we had to reschedule this shoot. Hopefully will have a sunny 2014. :)
