It takes me at least a good couple of hours to write a wedding blog post. I have to go through hundreds of pictures and choose around 100 images so I’m able to tell a story. I have to resize the images and even edit some! You see, I like to blur all pictures where the couple’s last names are shown. I could just leave those images out, but in this case, I loved Rachel’s wedding dress hanger so much, I had to post it.
This is Rachel and Michael’s wedding and my first time at the Black Creek Pioneer Village – what an amazing venue! Actually, it was my first wedding of the year where we could go outside for pictures. Yes, weather is pretty nasty this year and I’m really tired of having to reschedule shoots and, with weddings, shooting indoors! Hopefully, summer is here to stay and all this rain should be gone soon!
The truth is I shouldn’t really be working on my blog since I have a bunch of shoots to edit – so I won’t talk much. Please enjoy their beautiful wedding day! :)
Congrats, Rachel and Mike!

This is Nicole and Shawn’s big day from last October. Their wedding took place at the beautiful Centennial Building in Whitby – I loved the ceremony at the theater space – the decoration was truly unique. Interesting fact about them: they didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony and they didn’t want any portraits between ceremony and reception. They just cared about candid images throughout the whole day. Of course I had to steal them for a couple of minutes just to get a few photos of just the two of them. Even though they said they couldn’t care less for formals, I still think it’s nice to have a few. If you’ve been to a lot of weddings, you know most of the times the bride doesn’t stay with the groom during the reception, they’re always walking around talking the hundreds of guests that want to congratulate them. So yeah, I love candid photos during the reception, however it’s good to stop for a couple of minutes before or after the ceremony to get a few portraits – I bet they don’t regret it.
Congrats, Nicole and Shawn! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness! :)

I can’t believe 2012 is almost over! Time is flying and I’m finally getting back to blogging some of the weddings I’ve been posting on my Facebook Page. Many, many hours spent in front of the computer editing all these pictures while listening to music (and sometimes splitting the screen with Photoshop on one side and Toopy and Binoo on the other side) – weddings, babies, families, head shots, engagement sessions… and I still love all this.
I thought things were supposed to slow down during this time of the year, as they always do, but I’ve never been so busy. Lots of family photo shoots – so thanks everybody for sharing your pictures and talking about me. :)
If you’re here often, you’ll remember these two from a Distillery District E-Session. Rachelle and Levente got married last August at a stunning farm in Marsville.
The forecast was for rain, but it was pretty sunny all day long. We had some really heavy clouds throughout the whole day, so one minute everything was gray and windy and then all of sudden we had the brightest sun on our faces! I’m not kidding – I never changed my ISO and shutter speed so much in a matter of minutes. Tough day to be shooting outside, but I made it and I’m extremely proud of the outcome. We’ve got some amazing images to share – my favorite one is definitely the last one, where Levente’s little nephew is pointing to the stars in the sky as the night falls.
Congrats, Rachelle and Levente! :)

Top 3 things to consider when choosing your wedding photographer:
#1 You must love the photographer’s work (or at least like a whole lot): if you can’t go through the photographer’s blog posts (it doesn’t matter if it’s wedding related or not), this means he/she is not the right photographer for you;
#2 You must get along with your photographer: that’s why we should ALWAYS meet up before signing any agreements. I’ve been trying really hard to schedule meetings with ample time to chat about all your big day’s details, but sometimes that’s just not possible, especially if you want to meet during weekends. So the best thing is to schedule a meeting during the weekdays – otherwise you might get the impression I’m in a rush to end the meeting (on weekends, I usually squeeze meetings between photo shoots).
#3 Rates that fit your budget: you can check out my starting rates on the top menu – if I was the bride, I wouldn’t really like photographers that do not post their rates on their website. I just think it saves time for both of us.
Noor considered all these 3 things above when booking me. She was having a South Asian wedding and was not concerned at all that I wasn’t a photographer that just shot Indian/Pakistani weddings; she said she liked all my blog posts because I was able to capture amazing moments, so thank you Noor, for trusting my work. We got along so well that by the end of our meeting we were talking cosmetics and girly stuff. :)
Noor and Omar’s henna party/wedding this past August was filled with color, singing, dancing and emotion. What more can I ask for? Let me share a few images with you.
Congrats, Noor and Omar! It was a pleasure shooting your big day. :)
